HC Deb 18 July 1918 vol 108 cc1231-2
61. Mr. DUNCAN MILLAR

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether any arrangement has been completed for the pooling of private traders' wagons in Scotland, with a view to increasing transport facilities for coal and other heavy goods?

Sir A. STANLEY

The matter is still under consideration.

Mr. MILLAR

Has not this matter been under consideration for a very long time indeed, and having regard to the urgent necessity for additional transport facilities, cannot some steps be taken without further delay?

Sir A. STANLEY

I agree that the matter has been under consideration for some considerable time, but it presents certain difficulties, and I can assure my hon. Friend that we are doing all that we can to effect an improvement.

Mr. MILLAR

Are the details being considered?

Sir A. STANLEY

Yes, they are.
