HC Deb 18 July 1918 vol 108 c1238
93. Colonel ROYDS

asked the President of the Local Government Board if he will state what assistance, if any, it is proposed to give after the War to encourage the building of houses by private enterprise?

Mr. PRATT (Lord of the Treasury)

My right hon. Friend is as anxious as the hon. and gallant Member to find means of encouraging the building of houses by private enterprise, and he can assure him that the question is being carefully examined. My right hon. Friend is not, however, in a position to make any pronouncement on the subject at the moment.
