HC Deb 18 July 1918 vol 108 c1237
76. Mr. HOGGE

asked the Minister of Munitions on what terms Messrs. Waring and Gillow's Alliance Aeroplane Factory has been taken over as a settlement of the recent strike; and whether it is proposed to take any others over on the same terms.

Mr. KELLAWAY

I have nothing to add to the reply given yesterday to a similar question asked by the hon. Member for Pembroke.

Mr. HOGGE

When will my hon. Friend be in a position to state on what terms the factory has been taken over?

Mr. KELLAWAY

It is impossible to say at the moment how long the negotiations will take. As soon as I am in a position to do so I will indicate to my hon. Friend.

Mr. HOGGE

Does that mean that the negotiations for taking over the factory have not yet been made, and it has not yet been taken over?

Mr. KELLAWAY

That also I answered yesterday. The factory has, in fact, been taken over, and the conditions of the taking over are now under negotiation.

Mr. HOGGE

Is Captain Waring still retained as manager of the factory?

Mr. KELLAWAY

That is a question of which I require notice.

Mr. HOGGE

Then I will raise it tonight on the Adjournment.
