§ Mr. BECKDuring the first half of this year approximately 12,000 men have been released from the Army for work in shipyards. It would not be in the public interest to give the information asked for in the second part of the question, but the hon. Members may rest assured that steps have been taken to give adequate protection to men engaged on essential work in the shipbuilding industry.
