HC Deb 17 January 1918 vol 101 cc496-7
83. Sir J. SPEAR

asked if a decision has been arrived at with regard to the claims of the men at Hallsands, Devon, for compensation for damage done to their houses by the sea in consequence of the removal of the shingle?

Mr. WARDLE

I regret that I am not yet in a position to communicate a decision on this question, the consideration of which involves some points of great difficulty, and does not concern the Board of Trade alone. I can assure my hon. Friend that my right hon. Friend is doing his best to reach a decision at as early a date as possible.
