asked the Undersecretary of State for War whether all the recommendations made by Lieutenant-General Van de Venter, the Commander- in-Chief in East Africa, for the grant of the temporary rank of brigadier-general to colonels in command of columns during the late operations in that country, have been given effect to by the War Office?
