HC Deb 27 February 1918 vol 103 c1375
38. Mr. BYRNE

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Food if his attention has been drawn to the dispute in Boland's mills and bakery in Dublin; and whether his Department have taken any steps to settle the dispute?

Mr. CLYNES

Yes, Sir. The cost of production of bread in Dublin is now under investigation. If it appears that owing to exceptional circumstances the margin of profit is insufficient it will be open to the firm in question to represent the facts to the Irish Food Committee in order that they may be authorised to charge a higher price for bread.
