asked the Chief Secretary for Ireland whether a meeting of the Dublin Chamber of Commerce was held on the 14th instant at which it was stated that the poor and municipal rate in the city of 16s. in the £ made it almost impossible for traders to compete with those in Belfast, where the rates were almost 10s. in the £ less; was a resolution passed calling on the Irish Government to appoint an expert Commission to investigate the civic administration of the borough of Dublin; and, if so, has he decided to recommend the appointment of such a Commission?
