§ 65. Mr. JOWETTasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if, having regard to the increased cost of essential commodities, he will make provision for a further additional allowance of 2s. 6d. per week to each pensioner or claimant for a pension under the Old Age Pension Acts where he or she lives alone, or is one of a married couple living together, or is one of two pensioners or claimants for a pension living together by themselves, provided that such additional allowance is recommended by the Old Age Pensions Committee and supported by the pension officer; whether he has received a copy of a resolution passed by the Old Age 467 Pensions (Local) Committee of Bradford in support of this proposal; and, if so, what reply he has sent to the said committee?
