§ Mr. BONAR LAWIn July, 1914, the market price of raw gold approximated to the; price paid by the Bank of England for refined gold, namely, £3 17s. 9d. per standard ounce. At present, owing to the Customs prohibition of general imports, there is a very small amount of gold available for the arts, and the price of such gold is a matter for negotiation in each case.
