HC Deb 14 February 1918 vol 103 c269
59. Sir C. KINLOCH-COOKE

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he is aware that at the annual general meetings of nearly every company doing business in the Dominions reference has been made to the injustice of the duplication of Income Tax within the Empire; that some companies have felt compelled to remove their offices from this country; and whether, seeing that the result is a loss to the revenue here, as well as an injury to Imperial trade, he will consider the advisability of making such amendment in the law as will do away with the present unfair method of taxation?

Mr. BONAR LAW

I cannot add anything to statements already made on this subject, and I would refer my hon. Friend to the Resolution of the Imperial War Conference dated 25th April, 1917, of which I am sending him a copy.
