HC Deb 14 February 1918 vol 103 cc268-9
58. Mr. R. GWYNNE

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether, in the event of the issue of 5s. notes, he will consider their issue in booklets of twenty, somewhat similar to the small red postage stamp books?

Mr. BONAR LAW

I have carefully considered my hon. Friend's suggestion, but I fear there would be serious objections to adopting it.

Mr. KING

Does that mean that it has been decided to issue these notes?

Mr. BONAR LAW

No; I gave an answer on that point the other day, to which I can add nothing.
