HC Deb 14 February 1918 vol 103 c242
6. Mr. PONSONBY

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether there is any official medium through which accurate reports can be obtained of official pronouncements by statesmen of the Central Powers, in order that the misunderstandings caused by the inaccurate reports at present circulated by the Press may be obviated?

Lord R. CECIL

The answer is in the negative. His Majesty's Government have no other channel for obtaining the text of such pronouncements than newspaper reports.
