HC Deb 06 August 1918 vol 109 c1122
76. Sir F. FLANNERY

asked the President of the Local Government Board whether he has received a copy of the resolution passed by some of the inhabitants of a town complaining of the injury to their health by the emission of poisonous fumes from munition works in the town; and whether he has been able to arrange for an abatement of the fumes without injury to the processes of munition making?

Mr. S. WALSH

My right hon. Friend has received a representation on this subject, and has been in communication with the local authority. The matters complained of appear to arise out of conditions due to the War, but he has directed an investigation into the question whether improvements can be effected without prejudice to the supply of munitions.
