§ Mr. MACPHERSONYes, Sir; a legal assistant in the Lands Directorate of the War Office was recently advertised for. There were 110 applicants, and a Mr. J. M. Bevan, a solicitor, was selected as being the most suitable candidate. The qualifications for the post are, inter alia, a general knowledge of law and practice, experience in the handling of cases, and knowledge of book-keeping and accounts.
