HC Deb 23 April 1918 vol 105 cc849-50
43. Mr. ANDERSON

asked the Minister of National Service whether highly skilled men engaged on shipbuilding and repairing are being taken from Chatham Dockyard and placed in the Army; and, if so, if he will state by whose instructions these skilled mechanics are being taken from the naval dockyards and sent into the Army?

Mr. BECK

No men are released for service in the Army from the Chatham Dockyard, or any of His Majesty's dockyards, except with the sanction and approval of the Admiral Superintendent.
