HC Deb 15 April 1918 vol 105 cc4-5
4. Mr. GILBERT

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether the Railway Executive Committee propose to increase the price of railway season tickets and, if so, will any special consideration be given to the case of regular holders of these tickets; and is he aware that any increase of prices at the present time would impose hardships on all travellers in the London area who are either Government or business employés on moderate salaries and who, in most cases, fixed their homes and residence by taking the price of season tickets into consideration?

Sir A. STANLEY

The whole question of the steps to be taken to assist the railway companies by reducing railway travelling is being considered. The point raised by the hon. Gentleman will not be overlooked.
