HC Deb 09 April 1918 vol 104 c1309
7. Mr. CHANCELLOR

asked the Under secretary of State for War if soldiers in France are being refused leave to which otherwise they would be entitled unless they can show good vaccination marks; and, if so, whether this restriction will be at once withdrawn and soldiers granted the leave to which they are entitled, irrespective of marks on their arms or elsewhere, good or otherwise?

Mr. MACPHERSON

Yes, Sir; instructions to this effect have been issued by the Field-Marshal Commanding-in-Chief. In view of the outbreak of small-pox in London it is not proposed to withdraw this restriction at present.

Mr. PEMBERTON BILLING

Will the hon. Gentleman do what is possible for those men who are entitled to leave to enable them to be vaccinated?

Mr. CHANCELLOR

Does this apply to any area outside London?
