HC Deb 23 November 1917 vol 99 c1529
4. Mr. BYRNE

asked the Parliamentary secretary to the Ministry of Food if he will take steps to prohibit the manufacture of cream; and if he is aware that every gallon of cream manufactured deprives 250 persons of their daily supply of milk?

The PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY to the MINISTRY of FOOD (Mr. Clynes)

The Food Controller has issued an Order, to come into force on 8th December next, forbidding the use or sale of cream except for the purpose of making butter, or for consumption by young children, invalids or other persons upon a doctor's order.

Mr. KING

Does this apply to private people or to public sales?

Mr. CLYNES

Any kind of sales.
