HC Deb 07 March 1917 vol 91 c399
9. Sir B. FALLE

asked the Secretary to the Admiralty if he is aware that naval ratings stationed at the naval camp, Haslar, are obliged to pay toll when passing over Haslar Bridge, while naval ratings in Gunboat Yard and the soldiers at the camp, Haslar Common, do not pay such toll; and if the toll can be abolished for all service ratings?

Dr. MACNAMARA

Haslar Bridge has always been free to all officers and men of the naval service crossing it on duty, and an agreement with the Haslar Bridge Company is now being drawn up which will nave the effect of abolishing tolls for all service ratings for the duration of the War.
