HC Deb 07 March 1917 vol 91 c383
51. Mr. BILLING

asked the Prime Minister whether, in view of the fact that the suggested restrictions on advertisements are intended at once to reduce the production of, and demand for, luxuries and non-essentials as well as to save paper tonnage, he will so frame the proposed Regulations as to include restricting what are known and paid for as editorial puffs on such goods and chattels appearing in newspapers and periodicals?

Mr. G. ROBERTS

The Prime Minister has asked me to reply to this question. It is not at present proposed to place restrictions on the publication of advertisements in newspapers.
