HC Deb 28 June 1917 vol 95 c516
28. Mr. KING

asked the Home Secretary whether he has now received a Report on the disturbances at Leeds on 3rd and 4th June; if so, whether it will be published; and, if it is not to be published, whether he will inform the House who was mainly responsible for the outbreak and also as to the conduct of the police, and state how many persons were injured and what was the total value of damage to property?

Sir G. CAVE

I have received a Report from the Chief Constable on the points mentioned by the hon. Member in his previous question, and I have written to him giving him the information which he asked for. I do not think it necessary to publish the Reports or to make any statement on the subject. The disturbances were promptly suppressed by the police, and the Chief Constable does not anticipate any further trouble.
