HC Deb 25 June 1917 vol 95 c9
6. Mr. BOWERMAN

asked the President of the Board of Trade if he is aware that passengers travelling on the East London Railway from South Kensington to New Cross are not called upon to pay the 50 per cent, increase in fare, whereas those travelling from New Cross to South Kensington have to pay the increased fare; and whether, as New Cross is the terminus of the East London Railway, he will communicate with the Railway Executive Committee with a view to New Cross being accepted as the natural and convenient boundary for the zone system which that Committee has adopted?

Mr. ROBERTS

I am informed that the 50 per cent, increase is charged to passengers booking between the stations named in both directions.
