HC Deb 25 June 1917 vol 95 c13
25. Mr. KING

asked the Home Secretary whether he is aware that a Russian gentleman connected with the Workmen's and Soldiers' Council in Petrograd, and introduced by the Russian Embassy, was refused leave to see Peter Petroff, a Russian interned without trial; what was the reason for this refusal; and whether this gentleman will now be allowed to see the prisoner?

Sir G. CAVE

No, Sir. A Russian gentleman, who is, I understand, connected with the Russian Workmen's and Soldiers' Council in Petrograd, applied for permission to see Peter Petroff, but he was not introduced by the Russian Embassy. He has not been refused permission, and his application will be considered.
