HC Deb 21 June 1917 vol 94 c1943

The following question stood on the Paper in the name of Mr. TREVELYAN:

18. To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs if he can say when the Government propose to publish the text of the Note of the Russian Government to which the British, French, and American Notes are a reply; and whether all the Notes can be circulated as a White Paper?

Mr. TREVELYAN

I would like to add the Italian Note, which has appeared today.

The SECRETARY of STATE for FOREIGN AFFAIRS (Mr. Balfour)

The Russian Note and the British reply thereto are now in print, and will be laid in the near future. Doubtless the replies returned by the other Allied Governments will be published officially in the countries from which they emanate. That covers the Italian case.

Mr. SNOWDEN

Has any request been received from Russia for a joint Allied Note, and has any consideration been given to that?

Mr. BALFOUR

Perhaps the hon. Member will give notice.
