HC Deb 20 June 1917 vol 94 c1786
43. Mr. NEEDHAM

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether he can announce the names of the Committee to deal with the question of cotton-growing in the Empire, and the terms of reference?

Mr. ROBERTS

I am at the present moment in communication with representative associations in the cotton trade in regard to the membership of this Committee, and hope very shortly to be in a position to announce the names of the gentlemen who have consented to serve. The object of the Committee is to investigate in all its bearings the question of increasing the supply of raw cotton within the British Empire.
