HC Deb 19 June 1917 vol 94 c1586
7. Mr. KING

asked the Under-Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he will give the House information concerning the efforts to prevent persons of enemy origin, associations, and business relations in America from trading directly or indirectly with the enemy; and whether the cutting off of trade with all German subjects in America has now been completed?

Mr. BALFOUR

I have no detailed information on this subject which could with advantage be given at the present time to the House. But the hon. Gentleman may rest assured that the Government of the United States of America are fully alive to the necessity of putting a stop to all trading with the enemy.
