HC Deb 14 June 1917 vol 94 c1119
25. Mr. STANTON

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether a working arrangement has been come to by the three principal railways in South Wales— namely, the Cardiff Railway, Taff Vale Railway, arid Rhymney Railways; and, if so, whether, inasmuch as the railways are now all controlled by the Government, their consent has been obtained and proper protection will be afforded to the trading and working-class communities?

Mr. ROBERTS

I have not heard that any such arrangement has been come to by the three companies named, but I will make inquiries. In any case, I do not think that an arrangement of this kind could affect the present working of the railways under the control of the Railway Executive Committee on behalf of the Government.
