HC Deb 14 June 1917 vol 94 c1104
32. Mr. W ILK IE

asked the Minister of Munitions whether he has received a complaint from the Operative Masons' Association of Scotland that a guarantee given by the Ministry that certain classes of men engaged on constructional work at Gretna would, when their work was completed, be offered work in the factory or at other factories on constructional work, is not being carried out, and that a notice has now been posted up which is not in harmony with the guarantee given; and whether he has any statement to make on the matter?

The PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY to the MINISTRY of MUNITIONS (Mr. Kellaway)

I am making inquiries into the points raised, and will communicate the result to my hon. Friend.

Mr. PRINGLE

Have not representations on the matter already been made to the Ministry of Munitions?

Mr. KELLAWAY

Representations have been made, and we are now in communication with the Scottish Office.
