HC Deb 12 June 1917 vol 94 c749
57. Mr. TIMOTHY DAVIES

asked the hon. Member for Worcestershire (Bewdley Division) if he has yet considered the position of the Income Tax collectors and assessors who have joined His Majesty's Forces; and whether he is now in a position to state that the difference between their military and civil pay will be given to them by the Treasury?

Mr. BALDWIN (Lord of the Treasury)

This matter is still under inquiry. Owing to the wide variations in the range of the duties of these officials, the investigation has necessarily occupied some time, but I hope that a decision will shortly be reached.
