HC Deb 12 June 1917 vol 94 cc761-2
37. Mr. CORY

asked the Secretary to the Board of Trade what progress is being made in regard to the financial arrangements for the State control of the coal industry; and when an announcement may be expected?

Sir A. STANLEY

I hope to be in a position to make an announcement on the subject at an early date.

Mr. DUNCAN MILLAR

May I ask whether the right hon. Gentleman hopes to be able to make the announcement on the consideration of the Board of Trade Estimates on Thursday?

Sir A. STANLEY

I do not think at that time, but shortly afterwards.

Mr. PRINGLE

Will the right hon. Gentleman make a statement before we go into Committee, so that we may know the differential treatment of different interests?
