§ 94. Mr. STANTONasked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Food if his Department will now agree to the establishment of local fair-price food tribunals; if he is aware that much of the profiteering and exploiting of the public could be prevented by such tribunals; and that a dangerous condition of unrest prevails at the inactivity of his Department in dealing with this matter of the people's food?
Captain BATHURSTI am aware of the feeling aroused in certain quarters by the rising price of meat and some other foods; but it is clearly impossible for me to announce any decision on the important question of policy raised in this question pending the appointment of a new Food Controller.
