asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what decision has been come to as to granting an increased bonus to the Metropolitan Police Force; and if he can state from what date it will take effect?

The war bonus of all ranks of the Metropolitan Police up to superintendent has been raised to 8s. a week. This will include and supersede the existing general bonus of 3s. a week and the bonus of 1s. a week to married men, but will be in addition to the bonus of 1s. 6d. for each child. The increased bonus will be payable as from the 4th June.
