HC Deb 05 June 1917 vol 94 cc20-1
25. Mr. KING

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of National Service whether he is aware that a number of aliens, having volunteered for National Service, have been threatened by persons alleging that they are sent by the War Office or Scotland Yard, who tell them that they must not leave their present positions, but remain ready to join the British Army; and whether proper steps are taken to safeguard the services of aliens desiring to serve the land of their adoption in its hour of need?

Mr. MACPHERSON

My hon. Friend has asked me to answer this question. I have not been able to identify the incidents referred to; but if my hon. Friend will give me further particulars I will inquire.
