HC Deb 04 July 1917 vol 95 cc1103-4
63. Mr. WARDLE

asked the Prime Minister whether, in view of the desirability of maintaining harmonious relation- ships between the railway authorities and the railway employés, he will consider the necessity of broadening the basis of the Railway Executive Committee to include representatives of the railway employés' trade unions on the principle adopted in connection with the arrangements for organising the State control of the coal mines and more recently the cotton industry?

Mr. ROBERTS

The matter referred to has been carefully considered, but it is not proposed to take the action suggested.
