HC Deb 04 July 1917 vol 95 c1088
40. Sir C. KINLOCH-COOKE

asked the Under-Secretary of State for War whether he is aware that in the early part of 1915 a number of qualified dentists joined up and were given the temporary commission of lieutenant with a fixed rate of pay; that at the und of one year the higher rank of captain was conferred upon them, but with no extra pay; that the dental officers who join up to-day are placed in the same position as the dental officers who joined up two and a half years ago; and whether, in view of the work done by the men who joined in 1915, he can see his way to give them some kind of recognition for the work they have done?

Mr. FORSTER

These gentlemen are serving under a voluntary agreement at a stated rate of pay. I do not propose to disturb the agreement.
