HC Deb 04 July 1917 vol 95 cc1085-6
33. Mr. BILLING

asked the Undersecretary of State for War whether he is aware of cases of physical breakdown occurring among men who, having been passed into the Army as C 2 and C 3, are now being re-classed as A 1; and, in view of the fact that these men are under military discipline, will he say what form of appeal is permitted them and what action should they take?

Mr. MACPHERSON

No general facts of the nature indicated have been brought to my notice. If the hon. Member will furnish me with details of any specific cases which he has in mind, I will have the matter investigated.

Mr. BILLING

What acton is a man to take in view of the fact that he is under martial law?

Mr. MACPHERSON

He can always report sick, and he will be examined by the medical officer.
