HC Deb 04 July 1917 vol 95 cc1107-8
19. Mr. PALMER

asked the Undersecretary of State for Foreign Affairs how many Greek Troops surrendered en masse to the enemy last year; and if he has any information as to where they are now situated?

Lord R. CECIL

I understand that after the surrender of Cavalla three regiments of Greek Infantry and one of Field Artillery were taken to Sofia and finally interned at Goerlitz. It has since been reported that a certain number of these Greek troops were employed by the enemy in labour battalions on the Macedonian front, but no confirmation of this report has as yet been obtained.
