HC Deb 04 July 1917 vol 95 c1099
55. Colonel C. LOWTHER

asked the Prime Minister whether, in view of the work involved in the reconstruction of Belgium after the War, the Government are considering a scheme which will prevent undue exploitation by contractors, both British and alien, and will ensure work and consequent profit to those who have been instrumental in freeing Belgium from German domination?

Mr. BONAR LAW

The answer is in the negative, but no doubt the considerations to which the hon. and gallant Member refers will be duly weighed.
