HC Deb 21 February 1917 vol 90 cc1312-3
31. Mr. GINNELL

asked the Under Secretary of State for War whether, to restore confidence in the impartial ad ministration of the law, he will say if Mrs. Cornwallis West has been tried by court-martial for having tampered with military officers as other persons have been tried and punished for having tampered with private soldiers: and, if not, on whose authority and under what particular law she has been exempted from such a trial?

Mr. MACPHERSON

No, Sir. The Government do not propose to take any such action.

Mr. GINNELL

Will the hon. Gentleman say why?
