§ 51. Mr. DILLONasked the Prime Minister why the proceedings of the Dublin courts-martial have not been published before now, in accordance with the promise given by the late Prime Minister; and when the proceedings will be published?
§ Mr. MACPHERSONI would refer my hon. Friend to the answer which I gave on this subject to the hon. Member for West Meath on 21st December, and to the statement made by my right hon. Friend the Chancellor of the Exchequer on the preceding day, and I would ask him to postpone his question pending the decision of the High Court here on important points raised in connection with the proceedings referred to.
§ Mr. DILLONIs it proposed to go back upon the unqualified and unconditional pledge given in this House by the late Prime Minister?
§ Mr. MACPHERSONAt any rate, we must wait until these points cease to be sub judice.
§ Mr. DILLONWhat points? We have heard of no points. I asked whether the proceedings of these secret courts-martial could be published, and the right hon. Gentleman said they could. That is two months ago, and we have had no explanation of any sort given of this delay.
§ Mr. PRINGLECan my hon. Friend say whether this pledge is to go the way of all pledges?
