HC Deb 26 April 1917 vol 92 c2577
54. Mr. LYNCH

asked the Prime Minister whether his attention has been called to the suggestion that republican centres should be established in this country in order to promulgate and encourage republican ideas; and whether, in view of the fact that three of the most powerful Allies are republican States and that opinion is still hesitating in the great republics of South America, he will consider some form of machinery that may be set up to give the utmost importance obtainable and the earliest effect to these suggestions?

Mr. BONAR LAW

The answer is in the negative.

Mr. LYNCH

Even in this particular matter has the majority in this country the right to oppress a minority of sincere and more intelligent people?
