HC Deb 24 April 1917 vol 92 cc2220-1
38. Mr. JACOBSEN

asked the Minister of Munitions whether the recent advances to men and women doing certain classes of work in controlled establishments under the Munitions of War Act apply to workers engaged in producing wire for naval and military purposes?

Mr. KELLAWAY

With the exception of controlled establishments producing hemp rope as well as wire, the answer is in the affirmative so far as women workers are concerned. The action to be taken in the case of excepted establishments is under consideration. There has been no national advance to male workers in this? trade.
