HC Deb 04 April 1917 vol 92 c1292
58. Mr. PEMBERTON BILLING

asked the Prime Minister whether he has received a copy of a resolution in favour of compulsory National Service passed at a meeting of electors in East Herts, held at Hertford, 23rd March, 1917; and, if so whether he will take steps in accordance with the resolution?

Mr. BONAR LAW

I understand that the Prime Minister has received the resolution referred to. As regards the second part of the question, I have nothing to add to the answer which I gave to the hon. Member for South Down yesterday.

Mr. BILLING

May I ask whether it is a fact that of the speakers sent out to address these meetings none have had a resolution in favour of voluntary service?

Mr. BONAR LAW

I am not aware.
