§ 63. Mr. G. LAMBERTasked whether the German wireless news sent to neutral countries is permitted publication in this country; and, if not, for what reason is such publication prohibited?
Mr. SAMUELThe official statements of war news from Germany and other enemy countries are published in the British Press. As to the unofficial wireless messages circulated from Berlin for propaganda purposes, the question was carefully considered early this year, in consultation with the Admiralty and the War Office, and it was decided that it was advisable, in the interests of Great Britain and her Allies, to submit such matter to strict censorship.
§ Mr. LAMBERTWhat possible harm could it do to let the British public know what the Germans are circulating to neutrals?
