Mr. SAMUELI understand that the professor referred to is an Oriental scholar who, during his forty-three years' residence in this country, has done work for the University of Oxford, the University College of Wales, and the India Office, I am informed that he is still doing such work, but I am not aware of the character or conditions of his employment.
