HC Deb 18 October 1916 vol 86 cc540-1
40. Colonel YATE

asked the Financial Secretary to the War Office whether, considering that the fruit for jam for the troops is inspected at the works of the jam makers, that the jam is made under the inspection of Government inspectors, and is inspected when delivered, he can now supply an analysis of the jam served out to the troops abroad showing what proportion consists of fruit and what of other ingredients?

Mr. FORSTER

Analysis of the different jams are frequently made, and I shall be pleased to let my hon. and gallant Friend see some of the Reports at the War Office if he wishes, and also furnish him with copies of the specifications.
