HC Deb 17 October 1916 vol 86 cc351-2
23. Captain WRIGHT

asked the establishment of officers of an 18-pounder and a howitzer battery, Royal Field Artillery, respectively, under War Establishments, Part VII.?

Mr. LLOYD GEORGE

It is not desirable to give information of this kind during the progress of the War.

Captain WRIGHT

Is it laid down anywhere what the proportion of battery commanders and the proportion of lower rank should be?

Mr. LLOYD GEORGE

I do not think the hon. and gallant Gentleman should press for information of that kind. There has been a good deal of reorganisation of batteries, and I think it is undesirable to give information on the subject.

Captain WRIGHT

Is the right hon. Gentleman aware—[HON. MEMBERS: "Order, order!"].
