asked the Secretary for War whether he is aware that Private Thomas Simpson, No. 56471, 21st Cheshires, Labour Battalion, D Company, joined the Army in August, 1914, was subsequently discharged from the Army as medically unfit and given a medically unfit discharge at Preston, and was on 7th August, 1916, summoned as a deserter at Manchester and fined £2; that on 16th October, 1916, Simpson's brother received a letter from Kinmel Park stating that the War Office were considering Simpson's discharge, and that on 3rd November his brother received a letter from the Adjutant of the 58th Training Reserve Battalion, No. 9 Camp, Kinmel Park, stating that though the War Office had authorised Private Simpson's discharge, he had now proceeded to an unknown destination overseas; will he say where Private Simpson now is; and whether, in view of this man's medical history, he will now be returned home and discharged from the Army?
