§ 9. Sir E. CORNWALLasked at what date the Turkish Government gave notice terminating the Paris and Berlin agreements; and what international agreements have been terminated ipso facto by the War or by the giving of formal notice?
§ Lord R. CECILNeither the Turkish Government nor any other of the bellige- 1182 rents have, so far as I am aware, given notice terminating any international agreements. The rest of my hon. Friend's question raises points of international law which cannot be conveniently dealt with in a Parliamentary question.
§ Mr. R. MCNEILLDoes not the state of war between England and France on one hand and Turkey on the other put an end ipso facto to all treaties between those States?
§ Lord R. CECILI should not like to lay that down as an absolute fact; I would prefer to have the point considered first.
§ Sir E. CORNWALLWhen will the House get suitable and proper information on so important a subject?
§ Lord R. CECILIf my hon. Friend desires further information on the subject I will certainly make it my business to secure it for him, but I do not know that there is any other way except by answering a question.
